Mindfulness Meditation Class

Using Shamatha-Vipassana (meaning “Mindfulness-Awareness” in Sanskrit) as the form of meditation, Rheana has 10 years experience of deeper awareness with this meditation practice. She will guide you through this form of mindfulness meditation, that brings the mind to the single focus by labeling all thoughts, sensations, and feelings as ”thinking” and dissolving with the outbreath.

Meditation is a tool to tame the mind. Through a meditation practice, one starts to notice a “gap” between thoughts. Then you notice that ”gap” get longer and longer. Over time you start to recognize that the storylines you run in your mind don’t have to control you or your emotions or your actions. This is the foundation of taming the mind.  You then have control over which thoughts you keep and which ones to let go of. They no longer rule your actions and you gain more discernment in which choices you make in life. You can tune in to recognize there is a silent witness within that is always ever present. This vast expansive silent observer is the true you (not  the racing thoughts that furiously rush through your mind all the time  devouring every distraction and simple pleasure in life, constantly  judging and labeling every experience). The true you is within, expansive, connected in oneness to all,  silently witnessing.

This class is for the beginners to the advanced practitioners. It will include meditation instruction, stretching, mindfulness exercises, energy healing, and teachings from the Buddha (yes, he is scheduled for regular appearances…I’m kidding…we’ll study his teachings).

Rheana has a depth and sensitivity to the inner workings that naturally support you to go inward into meditative states.  Rheana is a healer and Reiki Master bringing the tools of energy healing to help you tune into your energy and give guidance through any emotions that may arise in your practice (yes, the kleenex will be close by. I’ve needed it close over the years through times in my practice). You will be guided with expertise of “seeing” energy holding patterns and the expertise of 10 years personal meditation experience on how to slow the mind and recognize the silent witness within.

You will learn how to drop judgments, how to understand your experience, and how to simply be. Through tuning into your body, taming the mind, and studying the teachings of the Buddha higher dimensions of awareness can be reached. In higher dimensions of awareness one can experience the same painful experience as in the past but no longer feel pain or suffering. This is the foundation of enlightenment. In a safe space with gentleness, sensitivity, and humor we will explore the joy of meditation.

Rheana attended school at Naropa University, a Buddhist founded  school that focuses on inner contemplation and embracing all aspects  within so you can then embrace all aspects you encounter in others  with openness and acceptance.
